Oura Ring 5: what the ads say, and what the buyers say

Research for a creator script on Oura's newest ring. The research is done; the script is being written. Below is what the evidence shows so far, and the angles it points to.

Spec project, October 2026. Not commissioned by or affiliated with Oura. Ad data is public (Meta Ad Library via Foreplay); member figures are from Oura's IPO filing and press.

The ad library

~/oura/ads

I pulled Oura's 100 longest-running live Meta ads and the transcripts of all 48 live video ads.

62

of the 100 longest-running ads are dynamic creative. Their copy is assembled by Meta, so most of the brand's durable winners can't be read from the library.

29

live English creator videos. Most run as partnership ads from the creator's own page, which is why they barely show under Oura's page in the Meta Ad Library.

9 of 10

Ring 5 brand statics lead with size: "40% smaller", "Subtle. Power.", "You asked. We listened." The new ring's story is being told almost entirely through its form.

one script, three hooks · a live test

Oura runs the same creator script behind three different openings. Everything after the hook is identical, and each version answers the membership-fee objection inside the script. This is what hook testing looks like from the outside.

If you've ever bought a wearable and stopped wearing it, hear me out.

23d

Don't be like me, just lock in with Oura Ring from the start.

I have tried every health tracker on the market, this is the only one I didn't return.

Days live = time in the ad library, not spend.

Who actually buys it

~/oura/customer

I checked the customer against Oura's own numbers before writing anything. The buyer is not who I assumed going in.

72%

of Oura's 5 million paid members are women (S-1 filing, June 2026), up from 59% in 2024. The filing credits women's health features.

20s

Women in their early twenties are the fastest-growing segment. The core is millennials and Gen X with disposable income.

Whoop

is where young men focused on gains and recovery are going. Oura says it is fine with that. Training is a slice of this buyer, not the centre.

"I use the ring because I can't stand sleeping with a watch. That's it."
"I got Oura specifically so I could stop using a bbt thermometer."
"I haven't found anything better to track sleep. I wear my watch for day activity tracking."
"Do I not trust myself or the technology?"
"the subscription BLOWS considering the rings are $300+ but i pay it"
"I found that covid impacted my heart for 8 months after having it."

64 quotes pulled from r/ouraring (Jul to Sep 2026), plus Trustpilot and App Store. The sample leans toward people asking "is it worth it", so doubts are over-represented.

Angle candidates

~/oura/angles

Four places the evidence points. The script will take one.

A · hidden signals

"I thought it was just normal"

The body was signalling before she noticed. Oura is starting to push this (Health Radar, a 23-day creator ad), but not for Ring 5 yet.

evidence: ads + customers · stakes: high
B · cycle and fertility

"I stopped temping every morning"

The most vivid customer stories, and almost no creator ads built on them. Needs careful claims: what the ring tracks, never what it causes.

evidence: customers · stakes: highest
C · the night shift

"Keep your watch. Add the ring for the night."

The largest segment in the reviews: smartwatch owners who won't sleep in one. The ads frame ring versus wrist as accuracy, not as "you don't have to choose".

evidence: customers · stakes: low
D · body literacy

"It explains how I feel, it doesn't overrule it"

Turns the score-anxiety objection into the pitch, in line with the brand's own "Be the Expert in You" positioning.

evidence: customers + brand · stakes: medium
